A Travellerspoint blog

This morning after a delicious breakfast of Eggs Benedict, Jason and I drove into Oxford, and after some difficulty with traffic, were able to find parking and start our tour of Oxford University. The tour took us through the heart of the city center and described the architecture and traditions of the university. We saw a couple of the locations where scenes from the Harry Potter movie were filmed, including Christ Church, the library, and the Divinity School used in both films as Hogwarts Sanatorium.

Then it was on to Blenheim Palace, home of the Duke of Marlborough, and birthplace of Winston Churchill. This is nothing less than grand! And the gardens and fountains are beautiful.

We then finished the day driving through the upper Cotswolds villages of Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, the Slaughters, and Chipping Campden. Finally arrived in Stratford-Upon-Avon, and found a B&B for the night. Got some dinner at a local pub and called it a night.
