A Travellerspoint blog

Liverpool was one of the most anticipated stops on our trip. We were here to see everything Beatles. Our Fab Four Taxi Tour driver picked us up at our hotel and we began a very magical mystery tour.

Our driver was very informative with lots of details about the early days of the Beatles in Liverpool. We saw the maternity hospital where John was born, the childhood homes of all four, and Strawberry Fields.

We also visited Penny Lane, including a visit to the barbershop where "..there is a barber showing photographs of every head he's had the pleasure to have known."

The highlight of the tour was seeing the cemetery where Eleanor Rigby, and "..all the lonely people, where do they all come from..." are buried across from the hall where Paul and John met for the first time. We actually talked to a man named Dave who was there and showed us the very spot where they stood. Yeah, yeah, yeah!!

Our driver let us off at the Beatles Story museum. The museum was fantastic!
