Berner Oberland, Switzerland Day 2

sunny 68 °F

After breakfast we checked out of our B&B and drove to Stechelberg where we parked the car and took the cable car to Gimmelwald, a small village in the Bernese Oberland that still retains its authenticity and charm.

Then we took the cable car to Murren.

We then drove to Zermatt by way of the Grimsel Pass, a mountain pass that crosses the Bernese Alps at an altitude of 7,100 ft. We parked the car in Tasch and took the train into Zermatt. Unfortunately the Matterhorn was hidden behind some clouds, so after walking through the town, we took the train back to the car in Tasch and drove to Chamonix. Fortunately, we were able to find a nice room at the first hotel we stopped at just outside the town core. We then got a delicious dinner in town.
